Plastic bag charge in Scotland to increase to 10p from 1 April

“The minimum price of a single-use carrier bag is set to increase from 5p to 10p, the Scottish government has announced, among a number of recent green announcements. The Scottish Parliament will be asked to approve the increase from the 1st April 2021.”

Environment and Climate Change Secretary Roseanna Cunningham said: “The Scottish Government is committed to building back a greener society so by further reducing our reliance on single-use items, we are taking positive steps to limit our impact on the climate and the environment.”
