HI to all,

I just wondered if anyone has had any luck with the Green Streets scheme. It just seems that nothing is going on or is that just me?

Would like to here from anyone that has any results from the scheme.

Yes - good question, I'm wondering the smae thing...  Smart metres?  Energy saving technology?...

Not sure, Pete.

Are you coming to our meal for Mali renewable project on 6th?  (Intending a locally sourced vegan curry...)

Good news from Tackley. We had a prize draw on Tuesday for energy saving devises in people;s own homes. We also have dates now for ground source heat for the village hall and Solar PV panels to generate energy to be shared betwee the four community buildings in the village.

Yep - British Gas guy here as I type.  Looking forward to seeing what difference a new boiler makes to my metre readings...

Yes it seems that Robin has finally started to get things moving........ at last!

Loft insulation went in on Tuesday and the same day a very helpful guy from the British Gas Central Heating Team did a survey for my sister who's in the scheme.  He said the local team would be keen to get involved in our community events and was very positive about the project.  I've passed this onto Jenny.

If the boilers and measures get put in soon we may even be in with a tad of fighting chance of proving the energy savings to British Gas and have a go at winning the extra funding.... you never know - it is a shame all the other projects are so far ahead with their measures and installations.

It is going to be really interesting to see the differences made by all the measures and the energy savings across all the households and community buildings.

Hi Claire,

Good to hear about your loft insulation and I'm glad that the Engineer was enthusiasic about getting involved in community events.  My colleague Helen has been working really hard (and liaising with Jenny) to marry community volunteering opportunities with volunteers so hopefully you'll be seeing a lot more on this in the coming months.

I wouldn't say that all the other projects are much further ahead with their measures and installations - they're all at different stages, for different reasons - and when the judges come to look at each community they'll only be able to judge on things that were in your control.  The savings that were made in Green Streets 1 communities were mainly from behavioural change and this may the biggest factor in saving energy in Green Streets 2.

Remember that the competition also looks at community engagement and the judges will be looking at that alongside saving and generating energy - and the great thing is that greenstreets.co.uk gives all the communities a chance to publicly showcase how they're doing with engagement.
