I think it is like I know a bit about diabetes, but I would know a lot about it if i had it. As a science teacher I taught global warming 5 years ago like every other topic. I got involved in my local sustainable group, got really informed and now do not stop talking about it ( i know it is overkill but the future is very worrying) Global warming is a reality and it is definitely worth debating? And considering I was not well informed 3 years ago, it is a question of communication, that most people do not relate to global warming? I felt quite down after december when our governments felt the people were not concerned enough about global warming and so the agreements in copenhagen weren't so great. But it did prompt me to step right out of my comfort zone and now i do not really ever stop talking about and doing projects related to raising green issues especially Global warming. i will hopefully be posting our assemblies on this website soon.
Some people think that the CO2 emissions are natural rather than man made, because the CO2 emissions from the carbon cycle are so large. What these people haven't accepted is that the man made emissions have tipped the careful balance between carbon monoxide being emitted and carbon being absorbed into the sea, trees etc. so that the net effect is an increase in carbon emissions in the atmosphere which is what is harmful.
