can i print out a blog etc ? And other site/computer quesitons. Created

Can i print out a blog etc so i can keep track of what has been said? and could you give me some advice on whether i am using each area as it is supposed to be used and sorry about somehow posting the question more than once please remove any repetitions . this is all new to me and i do feel a bit nervous posting my thoughts however i am finding it useful. is it best to continue as i have been doing and not mention names of schools or people and my self . I would really like to talk/communicate with baby blogger ( how do i leave this blog to find out what her real codename is?)

Hi Emma,

Some answers to your questions this time round:

You can't print out a blog as this would cause copyright breach issues, but the blogs will stay on record on the site, or you can copy and paste a blog entry onto a word document if you want to keep it.

In terms of how you use the site - there's a rough guide, but in reality people do post wherever they want. I tend to go by the following rules for greenstreets.co.uk for myself:

Blogs - I use these if I want to tell people about things I'm doing - that I don't necessarily expect a response to. Within Green Streets there's 3 types of blog:

Green Streets Blog - I would use this for anything that's non project specific about Green Streets

Project Blog - I'd use this for anything that's specifically to do with my community project

Member's Blog - I'd use this for something about Green issues in general that may not be directly related to Green Streets

I tend to use a Forum when I want to invite discussion. And Questions & Answers is good for this too.

You're right to be conscious of how you refer to names/schools/people/self etc - I think that's just good online personal safety practise. I'd go for the over-conscious route with this rather than make a post and worry about it...but if you do you can always let me know and I can remove it for you!

And about baby blogger...you could leave a comment on the blog and baby blogger can contact you through this if you want to. Obviously we (British Gas) can't give away personal details on request because of privacy issues. Just remember to be careful of the details you leave in the public domain.

I hope this helps...

Kate

Hi Emma,

Please don't feel nervous about posting your thoughts - we're glad you're finding it useful - and we're finding it really useful to hear your thoughts and the conversations that are going on on the site - it's all very inspiring. This is a new venture for British Gas too (and for me personally) - so we're all in it together!

In terms of the specifics of your questions you've asked a few things that I don't know the answer to off the top of my head so I'm going to find out and come back with answers (as I said it's new to me too!)
