Whilst I was on holiday in Berlin two years ago I stayed at a youth hostel in the city centre. I shared a room with 5 friends. I'd never stayed in a youth hostel before so wasn't sure what to expect.
When I walked through the door I was very impressed as it was clean, fresh and really trendy.

My amazement didn't stop there.........the company had gone out of there way to be green. They had large fireproof doors with draft excluders, double glazing, and energy efficient lights in the shower and bedrooms. These lights switched on and off as people entered and left the rooms. This was really funny as I had to keep moving in the shower or the light would go out when I was washing my hair!!

It was great to be surprised whist on holiday by a company leading the way to be green!

Has anyone else stayed in accommodation which as been really energy efficient?
