Our Story
The project covers the Bradford-on-Avon, Westwood, Winsley, Limpley Stoke, Monckton Farleigh, South Wraxall, Staverton, Holt and Wingfield communities in Wiltshire.
It aims to reduce carbon emissions:
- directly, through the energy efficiency upgrades to and use of energy generation in selected homes and buildings.
- indirectly, by the wider community replicating the energy initiatives undertaken by participants in the project
encourage behaviourial change through the use of energy monitors, awareness-raising activities (e.g. with schools) etc. and
increase understanding of special needs when energy retrofitting historic buildings, positively involving the Preservation Trust .
This is the first practical step in an ambitious goal to become carbon neutral by 2050, and 25 local organisations and many individuals have already signed a Declaration to support this.
